What we collect and why

1. Searching for tyres

If you search by your registration, the registration and the postcode you enter are used to identify the tyre sizes your car needs and the centres near your postcode. The query goes to our fulfilment partner, Tyres.co.uk, the holder of the vehicle and fitting data; no record ties that search to you, and beyond the usual server logs it is not kept at all. Entering a tyre size instead needs no personal information; it is just 3 numbers.

2. The centre finder

The "near me" search on the centre pages sends the postcode you type to postcodes.io, a free public service, to get a map position, so the 54 centres around Manchester can be sorted by distance. Your postcode is not stored by this site, and postcodes.io is the only place it goes.

3. Maps and weather

The map on each centre page is made of OpenStreetMap tiles, which your browser requests directly from openstreetmap.org, so OpenStreetMap sees your IP address in the same way any website you visit does. The Manchester weather panel is requested by our server from the Met Office (or MET Norway if that is unavailable) for the whole of Manchester, so nothing about you goes to either service.

4. Cookies and logs

TyresManchester.uk sets no advertising or analytics cookies, and no tracking script runs on it, and that is true of every page here. The host is Vercel, which keeps the usual short-lived server logs of IP address, browser and pages requested for security and reliability, not to identify you.

5. When you buy

When a tyre is chosen and buy is pressed, you are taken from here to Tyres.co.uk, our fulfilment partner, and the order completes there. The details an order needs, name, address, payment, vehicle and the fitting booking, are collected and processed by Tyres.co.uk under its own privacy policy, and that is the document that explains how the information is used and how your rights work.

6. Reviews

Reviews on this site are verified buyers' reviews, supplied by Tyres.co.uk, and show only a first name and initial. Reviews are never collected here, and there is no form for it; the asking is done by Tyres.co.uk after the fitting.

7. Your rights and contact

Under the UK's data protection law you can see the personal data held about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to the way it is used. Because this site keeps so little, most requests will concern an order held by Tyres.co.uk; in both cases, start with the contact page. The policy is not fixed for ever, and this page always carries the current version, with no separate notice given.
